Communication Evaluation

Communication Evaluation Task:

  1. Personal Statement: a personal statement is a short essay of who you are, what interests you and what your goals are in life. A personal statement is important to me as it will help me to not only get into university but will also help me get onto the specific course that I want to go onto. This will then help me to go onto the career path I aspire to be on.

  2. Portfolio: A portfolio is a collection of work that you have done. These could be specific things you have done relating to the course you want to do in university or for the job you want to do. A portfolio is important to me no matter what career path/ university course I go down. This is because in performance it will allow me to show off not only my opportunities but also how I have progressed as a musician. I can also use this if I go down the music business/ management route. This is where I can show off opportunities of any work experience, I have had with this career. This is also where I can show work, I have done throughout college relating to that job role/ university course.

  3. Interview: An interview is a formal conversation to see if the person applying for the that job/ university course is the right fit for that person. This will be important to me because if I go down the music business/ management route I will need to have an interview for this career. This is where I will be able to show my portfolio and talk more in depth about how I am the right fit for the job role and talk more about my opportunities.

  4. CV: A CV is a written document you send to the preferred job role you want. This is where you will talk about your skills, abilities, work experience, and availability. This is where you will talk about why you are the right fit for this specific job. A CV will be important to me for when I start applying for management/ business jobs as this will get me the interview. A CV will also help me to be able to talk about my skills and all my work experience that I have had throughout the years.

  5. Audition: an audition is similar to an interview. However, in an audition it is where the person gets to demonstrate their skills and their sustainability. An audition will only be important to me if I go down the musician route. This is where I will be able to show off all my skills and show to people at the audition all my potential when playing.

  6. Website: A website is where you will be able to upload things like your portfolio and if you are a musician then some links to social media, music and add some information about either yourself as a musician or about your band. This will be important to me if I decide to go down the musician route as record labels will be able to view this and will get a good example of myself/ the band and not only the type of music that is created but if we have a fanbase and how we communicate with people.

  7. EPK: An EPK stands for electronic press kit and is a digital resume for artists. It consists of key elements like music, samples, videos, biographies, reviews and contact information. An EPK will be important to me if I go down the musician route. This is because it is a good alternative to having a website. Having an EPK will also allow me to have more connections to people within the music industry. For example, I can send it to record labels and radio stations and magazine companies. This will allow me to get more recognition by people and will be easier to get my music out there.

  8. Social media site(s): social media sites are where people can upload stuff and show off things like hobbies and their life. However social media sites are also good for careers (for example, musicians, artists, and influencers). Social media sites will not be as important to me however, if I go down the musician route this will help me to be able to connect with people and other musicians. This will also help me to find connections like record labels and producers. Social media sites will also help to promote music and get it to a target audience.
